the stone walled garden

late June

mid May

made it from Minnesota with us!

When we moved to town we were offer the chance to dig off the
old rose that grows on the fence where the orginal school was.
In the spring of 2009 Chuck built a rose arbor and Sara, Gail
and Chuck took on the huge and rather nasty task of bring
home the roses.

There were some rather sad weeks as we watered and hoped
that the plants would take the move but by the end of June
there are all kinds of new canes coming up!

we also took up the sidewalk (which was too low for teh new yard)
and replaced it with a "broken stone walk.

Trumphet Vine
also grows freely and will be joining the rose on the arbor
for blazing color in a few years
The Birth of a Hosta bed

everything is in teh ground now
THe "big boy" versions that will reach 36 to 48 inches
in the back are just babies

some Hostas that Gail and Sara
brought form Minnesota spring of 2009 are still being nursed along in pots.

2008 The garden as you come out of
the north door into the side yard.

The north yard now holds a deck with steps
leading down to the lowerlevel gardens.

This area will hodl a koi pond
and have a rock patio area.

2008
The smaller 2nd garden bed
in the north yard.

2009

The smaller garden is now a bird feeding station.
Iris and Tiger Lillies have joined the double daylillies

Notice the trees
a pear tree (1st in line)
and then two apples (one red and one yellow)
There is a Pecon on the fence line.

The beautiful double daylillies
that grow all over our yard!

So for everyone who wants to know where we go all summer!
Nowhere!

If you had this in your yard would be sitting on a computer all day??
