The Master Bedroom
small but more then enough space for the two of us

Uriel's new favorite spot
(when she is not next to Gail)
The bed in this room where she can watch
everything that goes on in the livingroom, keep
an eye on the front door AND watch the street
out the bedroom window.
making progress . . . . . . .
Sorry but we just do not have "history" pictures of this room being transformed. One day the smell from the carpet just became too much to deal with and we tackled the room. Then one thing led to another. Gail said "since the carpetand and furniture is out lets paint - so we did. Then we all looked at the floor and began to wonder could we???? so we tried and low and behold we could and now we have a beautiful room. Since it was all cosmetic things and no real construction even with the floor redo it took less then a week.

You enter this room through a
doorway on the north wall of the
living room.

Looking into the room.
The wall with Gail's dresser adjoins
the kitchen and has a closet (which is
not shown in the photo that was
added by taking space from the kitchen.

The room has a window that looks
out onto the front of the house. It
has great shade from a huge old
ash tree so stay very comfortable.

We refinished the wonderful old floor
in this room. The floors are maple
and have a rich red cast. This is the
entry to the room and shows the
living room floor which is not refinished (YET!)

We are so proud of how the floor turned out. It is not perfect but we
did not expect a 100 plus year old floor to be prefect. The color is
lovely. We had thought we might need to stain the floors when
we refinished them but at least in this room this was not the case.
The floor is "as is" with just a couple coats of poly on it.
Much better then the horrid carpet the old tenets had laid.

We did find the source of the smell in the small room as they had
laid the carpet over not only dirt sheetrock (as in the living room)
but over animal feces as well.

what was . . . . . . .
the Small Bedroom

This room will have a closet added
It needs the carpet removed and the hardwood floor restored.
Plus a good cleaning a fresh paint.
