Our wonderful family of dogs

We have had dogs in our family all of our lives and would miss the companionship and love they bring to each of us if they were not here.

Tia

Tia (means dark shadow) is a sleve Pekinese. She is the old lady of the house and rules
her part of the domain with an iron paw! She was born in the spring of 2004
and came to live with us when she was 6 weeks old. Sarrah wanted a "small dog"
with a smashed face and loved Tia from the first time she saw her.

Tia adores Sarrah and like her name is a constant shadow. If Sarrah is there Tia will not be far away.
(Unless it is raining or snowing neither of which are high on Tia's list of favorite things)

The NEW IGGY KIDS

Many years ago Gail and Chuck showed Italian Greyhounds and for years have said they would have a pack of these
little sighthounds underfoot again. In Minnesota where we were limited to 2 dogs it was not an option but here in
Kansas we have been able to add these three to our family.

We started out looking for a couple little girls, one for Sara Berks and one for Abby (who is old enough to have her own dog at last)
The little boy became available when his new owner learnrd he was to be was deplored. Wyatt was older then
the girls but we decided "why not?"

Sara, Sarrah and Derek drove to Texas to pick them all up when we returned in May from Lionhead Nationals.

Arwen

Wyatt (and Uriel)

Lily
Arwen

Arwen was 7 weeks old when she
came to live with us. She and Lily
have the same dad but deferent moms.

Arwen is a special companion for Sara. She slept
on her all the way home from Texas and still loves to
sleep on her! Sara is enjoying exploring the personality
of a sighthound and so far seems very in love.
Each of the IGGY's is different. Arwen is the
take charge one. She is first to get into most
things. She comes when Sara calls but the rest
of us can turn blue calling some days.
Lily
Lily was 8 weeks old
when she came to live with us.

Lily was suppose to be a "spitfire" and we almost
did not select her because of that. She is anything
but a spitfire. Lily has the most loving personality.
She adores being held and loves to snuggle. She
is sometimes uncertain and will look to the
nearest person for assurance.

Lily is Abby's puppy she spent $100 of her
savings (almost all of it) to help buy her. She
loves to dress her in little outfits and Lily is
fine with that as well as sleeping in the
bedroom if Abby is watching TV. Lily was
last to learn get on the couch but really
likes the couch a lot.
Wyatt
Wyatt was our add-on puppy but we are very happy he came. He was already almost 5 months old when he came here to live. He had been hanging out with a couple Border Collies so pretty much takes everything in stride.

Wyatt really like being a house dog!!! The first time
he made it into the living room and jumped on the
couch he was sure this was IG heaven!

As the oldest he is the leader of the group but works
hard to loose the girls so he can have lap time all his
own. He seems to really like guys so hangs tight
with Derek and Chuck.

Uriel

Uriel is Gail's dog there is no doubt about that.
She sleeps with her and follows her everywhere.

She was added to the family when our red Doberman
passed due to liver issues.
She is a Blue Doberman with uncropped ears.

Ureil's favorite pastime - watching out the windows to see
"what is up in town??".
Her second favorite is going out to the chickens she
seems to think that is the high point of the day!

She simply loved it!

Just hanging out with Sara (one of he favorite
things to do - sit on the couch or sleep with any human)

The dog yard . . . . . . . .

We enlarged the dog yard we had put up originally.
The north side yard which opens off the
new door we added to the kitchen is now a fenced
area of
70 feet by 150 feet - more then
enough space for everyone.

There are two flower beds and number of trees that
shade the side yard.

We have added a 18 foot round pool and a gazebo so
humans spend a great deal of time out here as well.

What was before. . . . .

The old dog yard that Armstrong's built.
It was small and full of broken glass, metal,
plastic, and bones. I was so afraid that my
dogs would be injured in there.

This the mess we cleaned up on the north side
so we could make the dog yard.
The new door is not in yet in this picture..

The north side after we cleaned it up and put in the door

The dogs enjoying the original dog yard we built.
The like it a lot but LOVE the new super huge space.
